SLAM with Ultrabite™ is all about improving the fishing by developing baits that are better for the environment and better for targeting the Southern Hemisphere key species.
As we aim for a quality product, we have put together a team of highly skilled experts who join forces in researching, developing and assessing the SLAM soft baits.
Our New Zealand based chemist, Bill Jennings plays an important role in the SLAM team and together with our Pro-Team of well experienced anglers, we can now put our product on the market with great confidence, knowing that it will perform for you.
Rob Fort - slam proteam captain

Appointing Rob Fort as the SLAM Pro-Team Captain was an easy choice, as Rob is New Zealand''s best practitioner and most experienced soft bait angler.
His life long experience as a kayak angler and spear fisherman has given him an incredible insight into fish behaviour and how to find & fight them successfully.
To our luck, Rob is keen on sharing his passion and knowledge through his Coromandel based company, Kayak Adventures, being a kayak guide and educator.
Furthermore, his in-depth articles on kayak and soft bait fishing in the Fishing Coast to Coast magazine are well known as a valuable source to improve your fishing.
Rob''s never-ending enthusiasm for softbait fishing will be used in further SLAM product research and development as well as in targeting current and future tournaments throughout New Zealand.
First of all, we have had the pleasure to benefit from Rob''s writing skills as most of the Fishing Guide info you will find here on our website, is provided by Rob.
Milan Radonich

Milan Radonich is New Zealand''s No1 ''big fish in shallow water'' expert and a fishing technique innovator if there ever was one.
He has caught thousands of huge kingfish and sharks, all with techniques developed by himself.
Milan quickly saw the advantage in the SLAM softbaits and as he describes: ''the SLAM softbaits have found a permanent place as an excellent tool in my tacklebox''.
Milan''s radical approach to fishing and his excellent photography has made him a well known writer and an often seen face on fishing TV.
After the huge success with his tournament ''Kings of the Coromandel'', Milan has decided to design a new kind of fishing competition, called ''Pretty Chicken'' which we will hear a lot about in the near future.
Nikolaj Mathiesen
Nikolaj Mathiesen is New Zealand’s only saltwater fly fishing guide. His business, Saltflyer, has within 4 years developed into one of the most successful charter businesses in New Zealand. Every season thousands of trophy kingfish, snapper, trevally and sharks fall for this new and exciting fishing style.
When not saltwater fly fishing, Nikolaj is chasing big game fish on spinning gear and has already landed huge marlin and sharks.
Nikolaj found that fishing the SLAM soft baits was quite similar to his fly fishing, but opened up for new techniques and fishing grounds. According to him, the SLAM soft baits has proved themselves deadly on fish normally very hard to catch.
